Il Sole draws from the Sun card’s essential promise of warmth, truth, and renewal—an image associated not with excess brightness, but with steadiness, growth, and clarity after uncertainty.

Cut from 18-gauge cold-rolled steel, the panel is plasma cut, hand-shaped, and taken through a multi-stage finishing process that builds depth and surface complexity. Layers of paint are applied and selectively worn back; tonal variation is developed through abrasion, oxidation, and controlled aging. The surface is then sealed and hand-buffed with wax, preserving a softly luminous finish rather than a uniform shine.

Measuring approximately 22" × 44", Il Sole is designed as a substantial wall piece—radiant without being decorative, grounding rather than ornamental.

In Tarot, the Sun represents illumination that sustains rather than overwhelms. It speaks to clarity earned through experience, to growth that follows endurance. This work reflects that balance: warmth held within structure, light tempered by material weight.

Each piece is individually finished and produced in limited quantities due to the time-intensive, layered aging process. Natural variations in surface texture and patina are inherent to the work and are considered an essential part of its character.
